Gold prices remained resilient in July 2026 despite monetary and geopolitical pressures, opening at $4,011/oz, reaching a high of $4,203, and closing at $4,053. Markets navigated rising expectations of a U.S. rate hike, renewed Iran-related tensions, and widespread institutional forecast cuts. Silver prices traded between $54.74 and $63.26 before closing at $57.56, pressured by hawkish monetary policy and softer near-term industrial demand. In Egypt, 21K gold closed at EGP 5,879.37 per gram, while local silver ended at EGP 98 per gram. Central-bank purchases remained an important structural support, with the PBOC extending its gold-buying streak to 20 consecutive months. Technically, gold maintained its key structural support around $4,000, while silver continued to struggle below the important $60 level.
